The Traverse City Track Club (TCTC) has given more than $2.5 million back to the community over the years. Charitable giving is a way for the TCTC to say thank you for supporting its programs and events and to support those aligned with the mission of the TCTC. The TCTC charitable giving program includes: scholarships, grants, donations to volunteer groups (a.k.a. paid work groups), the golden shoe fund, and donations to community partners. For instance, proceeds from the Good Fight 5K every fall go directly to the Munson Healthcare Patient Needs Fund, which has brought over $250,000 to the fund over the past 25 plus years.
The TCTC has an endowment with both the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation (GTRCF) and the Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) Foundation, allowing the ability to provide grants and scholarships for many years to come. The TCTC Endowment with the GTRCF was established in 2010 by the TCTC Board who had a vision for and commitment to the long term ability to support the charitable giving efforts of the Club.
